Many divers now own their personal digital camera and enjoy taking images of the underwater world. With many pictures not looking the way they were intended, there is a rising need for information with respect to the use of digital underwater cameras. The IT College has implemented three programs for divers (and skin divers) and three programs for Divemasters, Assistant Instructors and Instructors to fill the information gap. |
| For divers and skin divers |
Digital Underwater Photography Level 1
This program covers automatic photography without the use of an external light source. You learn how to use features such as manual white balancing, ISO settings and a filter to achieve colorful pictures within the limitations of this type of photography. |
Digital Underwater Photography Level 2
This program continues on the information learned in level 1. We now add the use of an external light source (torch or strobe), but will still use the automatic functions of the camera. This will expand the situations in which you can take nice pictures. The program also offers an introduction to photo editing on a PC. |
Digital Underwater Photography Level 3
For those who really want to take up underwater photography as a hobby. At the end of this program you have the knowledge needed to use all the features of a digital camera and external strobe manually . |
| For Divemasters, Assistant Instructors and Instructors |
Digital Underwater Photography Workshop
This program is intended to make you a “PADI Digital Underwater Photography Photo Pro”. You will not become a photo instructor, but will have the knowledge
and skills
needed to assist in photo courses and to guide photographers on exploration dives. |
Digital Underwater Photography Instructor Level 1 and 2
Those who want to teach the PADI Digital Underwater Photography courses level 1 and 2 continue after the “Digital Underwater Photography Workshop” with some additional experience in taking pictures and especially analyzing the pictures students have taken. |
Digital Underwater Photography Instructor Level 3
Many divers are eager to learn more once they started underwater photography. The Digital Underwater Photography Instructor course for level 3 prepares you to offer the additional skills and knowledge divers will be looking for in a level 3 course and will increase your knowledge, which makes you a superior teacher for level 1 and 2 courses. ( Level 3 Instructor certification is only open to instructors, but Assistant Instructors can attend and have their certification activated once they passed their IE.) |
