The
PADI Rescue Diver course is serious fun. In 5 sessions for
knowledge development and 5 sessions in the open water (where
necessary some practice in the pool) you will learn how to
act in diving emergencies and how to prevent diving accidents.
The academic topics are stress and self rescue, first aid
for divers, managing an emergency and equipment related problems.
In the practical sessions you will learn how to handle conscious
divers with a problem and how to help unconscious divers,
both under water and at the surface.
The
Rescue Diver course does not cover CPR and defibrillator training.
This is why a certification in this field is required before
becoming certified as a Rescue Diver. We recommend that you
combine the Emergency First Response course (CPR and defibrillator)
with your Rescue Diver course.
The
same is true for the “distinctive IT College program” Oxygen
First Aid for Divers. In all diving emergencies, the administration
of oxygen plays a key role in the recovery of the patient.
This is why training in this field should be considered mandatory
for all Rescue Divers. The combination of these 3 courses
is referred to as the “Safety Package”.
