| At the IT College, we work with the PADI system of diver
education. Most programs are supported by PADI materials to an
acceptable level. For those programs where the IT College feels
that additional support is needed to conduct programs which
reflect our philosophy - not only certified, but also qualified
- we create our own materials. |
| Instructors who do their Specialty Instructor Training Course
receive a copy of these materials for use in their Specialty
Courses. The IT College has chosen CD-Rom format to distribute
these supports. |
| IT College CD-ROMs contain the Instructor Guide, materials to
be printed and handed out to students and a presentation on
PowerPoint for classroom support, which can be used for computer
based support or to print transparencies or slides. The outline
and support materials are available in 4 languages on the same
CD-Rom. Some products, like the CD-Rom for under water
photography courses have additional supports, like a series of
several pictures to be used as an example and a presentation for
giving students assignments for pool practice and open water
dives. |
| Not everybody has a chance to visit the IT College to do a
Specialty Instructor Training Course. This is the reason why we
decided to allow access to these supports for instructors who
can prove that they have adequate experience and training in the
respective specialty program. IT College CD-ROMs sell at the
price of € 109,--. |
| At the moment the following CD-ROMs are available: |
|
|
| There are several other CD-ROMs in preparation. These will
become available as soon as all outlines are fully approved and
the translations are finished. Programs which near their
completion include: a "green" program with
environmental oriented specialties, the equipment course, a
compressor handling program and a multi-level presentation,
concentrating on history and decompression theory. |
|
| Another IT College product is a navigation tool, called the
Scuba Sextant. It is similar to the NavFinder from PADI, but in
several aspects superior. With the use of the Sextant in
combination with a compass, you can not only improve your
navigation, but you will also find that it is an excellent tool
for making maps of a dive site. |
