The aquatic realm is fascinating. The level to which a diver appreciates the wonders of the underwater world depends highly on his understanding of what is observed. The naturalist course is therefore a “must” for all divers. The course explains the functioning of ecosystems and the role individual organisms play in the complexity of such systems. The course starts with the theory on different ways individual organisms interact and then proceeds to the system in which the species are named (the taxonomic system).
Your training as an instructor in this subject should be completed in two days. Consider combining this course with the research specialty instructor course. Training is equally divided between theory and open water dives. As a participant in this course you should have the book “Advanced Theory for Recreational Divers”. At the completion of your training, you will receive a CD-Rom with a PowerPoint presentation to teach the course to your students (a no additional charge).
The Naturalist Instructor Course is a good basis for further courses on biological subjects. The course provides a basis of understanding on which other courses can build. Thanks to the broad basis of the theory, the course can be adapted to virtually every diving environment, from fresh water rivers or lakes to tropical coral reefs.
The College can offer complete flexibility for the scheduling of your course. You can opt for half or full days, do several days of training without taking a break or take your course one day at a time. Learning is a personal experience and you should opt for a schedule that fits your needs. The current prices for our courses and services are found in the latest version of our brochure.
