Compressor Handling Instructor

The compressor is the heart of every dive center. If the compressor does not work, the diving stops. It is our opinion that every dive professional should have a thorough understanding of compressors and filling procedures. The Compressor Handling Specialty is designed for that purpose. The course starts with the theoretical background. During the theory, you will already receive some hands-on training on individual parts such as valves and cylinder heads. Ones the theory is completed; you dismantle and assemble a compressor. For this purpose, the College is equipped with three compressors as training aids for this course.

After certification, you receive an instructor guide and a CD-Rom with a PowerPoint presentation (at no additional charge). These tools allow you to teach appropriate procedures for the maintenance of a compressor and filling cylinders. You should consider this training mandatory for every person who operates a compressor system – how else should the staff know how to assure a good air quality? Your students will however not participate in any workshops in which compressors are dismantled or assembled.

You should be able to complete the compressor course in two days. We would recommend adding a third day to complete the Blender Instructor at the same time. A Blender course does not make much sense if you do not have an in-depth understanding of the functioning of compressors. By doing both courses, you are prepared for all cylinder filling – air and Nitrox. Attention – before you can participate in a Blender Instructor Course, you are required to be Nitrox Instructor.

The compressor course has dual purpose – it allows you to teach the staff of a dive center as well as interested divers about the correct use of compressors and it provides you with the technical knowledge needed to do your job in a qualified manner – not only certified, but also qualified...

The College can offer complete flexibility for the scheduling of your course. You can opt for half or full days, do several days of training without taking a break or take your course one day at a time.
