There is more to being a diving instructor than teaching people how to dive. In order to support your professional development, the College has some courses available to train you in other aspects of your job.
The IDC Staff Instructor Course deals with teaching, but at a different level. In this course you learn how to assist a PADI Course Director in the preparation of others to become a diving professional. The essence is that you do not teach diving, but you teach teaching – a totally different approach and emphasis as you are used to.
As diving is related to the tourist industry, you can expect that employers will want you to communicate in different languages. Although the College is not a language school, we can help you to improve your diving related language skills if you already have a basic level in a foreign language.
Finally we offer training to improve your abilities for other aspects of your work in a dive center than teaching. For the commercial aspect of your work we have a seminar on sales, marketing and guest relations. For your duties concerning the technical equipment of a dive center, we can introduce you to the techniques used by technicians for maintenance and repair of diving equipment and compressors.
