The diving industry is part of the tourist industry. As you are confronted with traveling divers, you are confronted with people from different nationalities and it is important that you can communicate with them. The level at which you speak languages is not the main issue – it is your ability to communicate. Language skills require you to have general conversation and if possible some basic teaching or briefings. There is no need to write in a foreign language.
Obviously the College is not a language school. We are not the best place to learn the basics of a new language. We can however help you with diving related terminology. If you already have basics in French, German or Dutch, we can help you to fine-tune your skills related to your job in the diving industry. If you invest one or more days depending on the level you already have, we will make sure that we work and practice with you to be better prepared for your role.
If spending some time with us is not an option, you might consider buying our language CD-Rom for French, German or Dutch to practice at home. These CD-ROMs relate diving related terminology via audio-files. They are a big help to expand general language skills to the specific needs for your job in diving.
The College can offer complete flexibility for the scheduling of your course. You can opt for half or full days, do several days of training without taking a break or take your course one day at a time. Learning is a personal experience and you should opt for a schedule that fits your needs. The current prices for our courses and services are found in the latest version of our brochure.
