Navigation should be one of the first specialties divers complete. The knowledge and skills thought in this course are a basis for success in other courses such as Rescue Diver and Search & Recovery. You can offer this course after completing your Navigation Specialty Instructor course. The skills learned in this course are based on the information contained in the PADI Adventures in Diving Manual.
You can go a step further. The Advanced Navigation Specialty adds knowledge and skills to the “standard” specialty. Specially developed skill training prepares divers to improve their feeling for water movement and the use of light. With a scuba-sextant divers learn to navigate more complex patterns than triangles and squares and on the same basis divers learn how to make underwater maps for their next visit to the same dive site. This last skill is also very useful for you as an instructor. Divers coming to your center will benefit from precise maps used in you briefings.
Divers participating in the Advanced Navigation Specialty are required to have the book “Advanced Theory for Recreational Divers”.
The College can offer complete flexibility for the scheduling of your course. You can opt for half or full days, do several days of training without taking a break or take your course one day at a time. Learning is a personal experience and you should opt for a schedule that fits your needs. The current prices for our courses and services are found in the latest version of our brochure.
