Diving is an equipment intensive activity. If the equipment does not function properly, both the comfort and the safety of the diver are at stake. This is why many divers have a wish to know more about the technical aspects of diving.
The Equipment Specialty Instructor course prepares you to teach the basics about diving equipment. The course follows a standardized outline form PADI and largely follows the content of the equipment chapter in the Encyclopedia of recreational diving. If you want to teach diving to those who really want to understand how diving equipment works, you should opt for the Advanced Equipment Specialty Instructor course. The “normal” specialty for equipment is not a prerequisite for this program.
The air we breathe as divers comes from high pressure air compressors. Divers will want to know how they can assure that the air they breathe is of the desired quality. Compressor Handling Specialty Instructors can provide all the answers. Instructors also have the option to continue their own training with technical training that prepares them for their responsibilities in a dive center other than teaching. The College is equipped with three compressor blocks specifically reserved for technical training.
A good continuation of the compressor handling course is the DSAT Blender Instructor course. This course provides instructors with the knowledge needed to provide Nitrox and mixed gas services and allows them to teach divers how to blend Nitrox.
A last technical seminar is the Electronic Diving Instruments SpecialtyInstructor course (in short EDI). This course allows you to inform interested divers on the mathematics behind dive computers and decompression theory. This course is highly in demand with divers who desire professional certification levels. Starting with Divemaster certification, knowledge of decompression theory is a requirement.
The College can offer complete flexibility for the scheduling of your course. You can opt for half or full days, do several days of training without taking a break or take your course one day at a time. Learning is a personal experience and you should opt for a schedule that fits your needs. The current prices for our courses and services are found in the latest version of our brochure.
