Instructor Training College Photo Competition – Rules

  • The photo competition is organized by: IT College, Daniela Goldstein, 95 Av. du Dr. Picaud, 06150 Cannes la Bocca, France
  • The competition is open to underwater photographers around the world, both amateur and professional. Every two months a new competition starts (December 1, February 1, April 1, June 1, August 1 and October 1). Entries will be accepted during the two months before a new competition starting date.
  • Only underwater pictures that fall in one of the following categories are accepted: Silhouettes, Macro of underwater creatures, Diver underwater,
    Reflection/Refraction
  • A minimum of one image and a maximum of 4 images per person may be entered into the same bi-monthly competition. The same photographer can participate in all 6 competitions during the year, but always with no more than 4 pictures per competition.
  • Uploaded images must be in .jpg format and may not be bigger than 2MB. The system will automatically reduce the size of the picture to the measurements needed for a correct display on the internet page.
  • Pictures are screened before they are entered in the competition. Pictures that do not fall into one of the four categories are deleted. If a photographer enters more than four pictures in a competition, part of the entered pictures will be deleted. Images with shocking, sexual or violent content will be deleted.
  • All entries must be the sole work of the photographer. Copyright of the images will rest with the photographer. However, entry into the competition will permit unrestricted and unaccredited use of the picture by the IT College, Daniela Goldstein.
  • Photographers must obtain permission from any identifiable people in their composition before entering the picture into the competition.
  • The IT College will not accept responsibility or liability for unauthorized copying and use of images by third parties.
  • Voting for the pictures entered in competition is open to anyone visiting the respective internet page. There is no jury. The voting done by the visitors of the internet page is binding.
  • The winner of the competition will have his/her photo posted on a prominent place on the main page of the photo competition during a period of six months and will receive a copy of the book “Digital & Traditional Underwater Photography” from Scuba Publications, the second place will receive either a shirt or a bag from PADI and the third place will receive a Scuba Sextant from the IT College. The top 10 pictures from each of the competitions will stay accessible in the internet for a prolonged period after the end of the competition. Lower ranking pictures will be deleted at the end of the competition, but may be reentered for a next competition.
  • Entering the competition implies acceptance of these rules.
